Past Regent, Becky Barrows Wilson
Grave of the Marquis de Lafayette
Paris, France
This is an amazing recreation of one of George Washington's uniforms. Princeton Chapter member Dawn Fairchild traveled to the Smithsonian Institute to examine the actual uniform worn by Washington. She painstakingly recreated this uniform using materials and techniques that would have been used in Washington’s own uniform.
A view of the handmade shirt and vest. Every detail was exactly recreated, from the number of buttons on the vest to the style of riding boot worn by Washington.
Dawn Fairchild talks about the process she used in creating this uniform.

Members of the Princeton Chapter participated in a wreath laying ceremony at the grave of Lafayette in Paris. Lafayette was instrumental in securing French aid for the cause of American independence. He worked closely with George Washington and was a key strategist in the battle of Yorktown, which led to the surrender of the British.
